PREAMBLE

PROGRAMMES

1. Diploma in Business Management

COSC/LGCSE with:

  • Credit (C) or better in Economics or Principles of Accounting or Commerce or Business Studies
  • Pass (D) or better in English Language
  • Pass (E) or better in Mathematics

A candidate must have sat for six (6) subjects at LGCSE or its equivalent including English

OR

  • A minimum of a pass at LQF Higher Education Level 5 Certificate, or AS or A – Level or
  • IB or an equivalent qualification

Career Opportunities

On completion of the course, a student is in a position to venture into the following working environments:

  • Insurance companies
  • Banking institutions
  • Financial institutions
  • Consultancy firms

They can also be employed as:

  •  Assistant accountants
  •  Debtors control officers
  •  Creditors control officers

2. Diploma in Hospitality Management

COSC/LGCSE with:

  • Pass (D) or better in English Language
  • Pass (E) or better in Mathematics
  • Pass (D) or better in Home Economics or Food and Nutrition or Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies or Economics

A candidate must have sat for six (6) subjects at LGCSE or its equivalent including English

OR

  • A minimum of a pass at LQF Higher Education Level 5 Certificate, or AS or A – Level or
  • IB or an equivalent qualification

Career Opportunities

On completion of the course, a student is in a position to be employed as a:

3. Diploma in Administrative Information Management

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission into year 1 is through two avenues: Lesotho General Certificate for Secondary Education (LGCSE) or Cambridge Overseas School Certificate (C.O.S.C.) or its equivalent and Certificate in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration.

LGCSE
C or better in English Language / Literature and ANY OTHER FOUR PASSES excluding Sesotho, Home Economics, Needle-Work and Wood-Work.

COSC
C or better in English Language / Literature and ANY OTHER FOUR PASSES excluding Sesotho, Home Economics, Needle-Work and Wood-Work.

 

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

  1. Certificate in Secretarial Studies or Office Administration or
  2. COSC/LGCSE with a minimum 6 (six) months LQF Level 5 transcript in Secretarial
  3. COSC/LGCSE with office administration experience and a reference specifying 1 (one) year relevant work experience

4. Diploma in Marketing Management

COSC/LGCSE with:

  • Pass (D) or better in Economics or  Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies 
  • Pass (D) or better in English Language
  • Pass (E) or better in Mathematics

A candidate must have sat for six (6) subjects at LGCSE or its equivalent including English

OR

  • A minimum of a pass at LQF Higher Education Level 5 Certificate, or AS or A – Level or
  • IB or an equivalent qualification

5. Diploma in Tourism Management

  • Pass (D) or better in Geography or Economics or  Principles of Accounts or Commerce or Business Studies or Travel & Tourism

A candidate must have sat for six (6) subjects at LGCSE or its equivalent including English
