About Us
The Lerotholi Polytechnic Library was established to support the academic programmes, research activities and knowledge needs of the institution. The main library building was officially opened on the 15th March 1997 by the then Minister of Education, Honourable Mr. Lesao Lehohla. At the time of its inauguration, the library housed approximately 4,000 titles and was operated by only three staff members.
Over the years, the library has grown significantly in both its collections and services. Today, it employs ten professional staff members and houses more than 18,000 print volumes, complemented by a wide range of electronic resources, online databases, internet services and digital collections. Located approximately 200 metres from the main entrance of the campus, the main campus Library continues to serve students, academic staff, researchers and the wider Polytechnic community.
To expand access to library resources and support teaching and learning across the institution, the Polytechnic established the Moshoeshoe II campus library which provides the same core services as the main campus library. This ensures that students and staff at both campuses enjoy equitable access to quality library resources and services.
